Recognizing Excellence in Addictions and Justice-Involved Counseling.
Each year, AAJIC is pleased to honor division members through recognition of exceptional service to the counseling profession according to our mission. AAJIC also provides grant funding opportunities for research and community projects. Below is the full list of awards and grants offered. Members may nominate themselves or another member during the official submission window. Winners will be announced prior to the ACA Annual Conference and honored in person during AAJIC’s membership meeting.
Counselor-Educator Excellence Award.
Acknowledges a Counselor-Educator who demonstrates excellence through teaching addictions and/or criminal justice counseling in an academic or other training setting.
Outstanding Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Scholarship Award.
Acknowledges an AAJIC member who has demonstrated a commitment to promoting social justice and diversity in addictions and/or criminal justice counseling through their research scholarship.
Graduate Student Excellence Award.
Acknowledges a graduate student, either at the Master’s or Doctoral-level, who demonstrates exceptional professionalism and dedication to the fields of addictions and/or justice-involved counseling.
Outstanding Professional Service Award.
Acknowledges a practitioner-counselor who exemplifies AAJIC’s mission in their clinical work with clients and their communities.
Outstanding Program Award.
Acknowledges a university graduate counseling program that demonstrates a commitment to cutting-edge training for future counselors within the fields of addictions and/or criminal justice counseling.
AAJIC Faculty Research Grant
The AAJIC Faculty Research Grant is intended to recognize and support AAJIC members who are conducting research that demonstrates promise for outstanding contributions to the specialty areas of addictions and/or justice-involved counseling with $500 in funding.
AAJIC Graduate Student Research Grant.
The AAJIC Graduate Student Research Grant is intended to recognize and support AAJIC student members with $500 in funding towards the completion of their dissertation or research project.
AAJIC Project Grant.
The Project Grant is intended to support an AAJIC professional member with $500 in funding to be used for a community project or similar action-oriented endeavor.
