Our vision is advocating for the expansion of addictions counseling education. We want to better understand the state of counselor training as it relates to addiction counseling curriculum strengths and needs. We support sharing of addiction education research and resources.

Dr. Sarah Littlebear is a licensed counselor and supervisor in Georgia. She has worked with co-occurring and addictions populations for a number of years, including justice-involved settings. Dr. Littlebear is passionate about trauma-informed treatment with those who have experienced addiction and the justice system. Her interests include enhancing addictions training for counseling students and modern treatment approaches. Dr. Littlebear serves as the '26-'27 AAJIC Secretary.
